Our Facility
Lorantffy Care Center is a 94-bed one-story skilled intermediate nursing and 13-bed assisted living facility. Surrounding our main building campus are eight independent living houses, operated by Christ Reformed Church.
All residents receive three home-cooked meals daily, seven days a week. They also receive two snacks each day.
The Building
Both private and semi-private (two bed) rooms are available inside the main building in the skilled and intermediate wings as well as in the assisted living wing.
Within the main building is the natural-light filled dining room with a sweeping cathedral ceiling and small round tables that encourage conversation. The full-service kitchen, which prepares three made-from-scratch meals a day and two snacks, is just off the dining room. There is a front and back nurses’ station, making access to rooms and wings quick and efficient.
Nestled in the center of the facility is a fully-enclosed outdoor courtyard which is filled with colorful perennials and annuals as well as trees and statues depicting significant moments in the Lorantffy Care Center history as well as the history of Europe. Bird feeders and other scented plants encourage wildlife to beckon at the windows of Lorantffy. Residents are welcome to spend time on their own outside as physically able or participate in outdoor activities when the weather is permissible.
Also situated in the facility is a chapel where Protestant and Catholic services are held. Jewish services are also held, but in separate areas. The chapel is also the site of many activities and games, given its extraordinary and ample natural lighting.
Just off the chapel is the TV room with comfortable couches and chairs and a big-screen TV with a DVD and VCR capabilities. Residents are welcome to watch TV in this area during the day or watch the Hungarian or American films that show throughout the week.
Inside the main building are the laundry facilities. Every resident of Lorantffy Care Center receives laundry service included in the room and board fees.
Independent Living Houses
The independent living is are situated in stand-alone houses across the parking lot and adjacent to the campus of Lorantffy Care Center. The houses are operated by Christ Reformed Church, although residents are not required to be of a particular religious belief in order to live in the houses. Residents who live in the homes enjoy the same comforts and level of service as those residents who live in the Lorantffy Care Center, including three meals a day, two snacks, a full security system, and access to all activities and social events that take place at Lorantffy Care Center. Likewise, transportation is available to residents in the independent living houses as needed.
Included in room and board charges is electric, heat, air-conditioning, housekeeping, laundry, and cable television.
