Interdisciplinary Care Team
At Kingston we work together as a team to create a personal plan of care for each of our residents. We strongly encourage our residents and their families to take an active part in this process. You will find a comprehensive team which includes our Licensed Social Worker, RN Care Manager, Therapists, Nutrition Services Manager, Activity Director, Restorative Nursing and Nursing Assistants, all working together to try to achieve the best possible outcome for each of our residents.
Long Term Care
24 Hour Skilled Nursing care in a compassionate and home-like environment. Kingston offers a broad range of supportive medical, personal and social services needed by people who are unable to meet their basic living needs for an extended period of time.
Comprehensive Rehabilitation
Our Rehabilitation Team at Kingston Care Center of Sylvania is a dynamic group of therapists. We are dedicated to providing the most current physical, occupational and speech therapy techniques to deliver the highest quality of rehabilitation services individualized to meet the specific needs of each person we serve.
At Kingston Care Center of Sylvania we provide both inpatient and outpatient services to the residents of Kingston and the surrounding communities. Our spacious therapy gym is equipped with modern equipment and a state-of-the-art therapeutic pool. The goal of the therapy team is to return you or your loved one to the optimal level of functioning and help you meet the goals established by the interdisciplinary team.
Physical Therapy
Our Physical Therapists work with our residents to restore function and prevent disability following an illness or injury. As a resident of Kingston Care Center of Sylvania you will be evaluated and begin receiving treatment within 24 hours of admission.
Our Physical Therapists are trained to assist you with:
* Pain management
* Balance and gait disorders
* Trauma Rehabilitation
* Strengthening
* Home evaluations
* Family education and training
Occupational Therapy
Our Occupational Therapists provide services to people whose ability to function in daily life have been disrupted by physical illness or injury, development problems, the aging process and mental or emotional illness. Our Occupational Therapists provide programs such as:
* Dining and feeding
* Comprehensive activities of daily living, such as dressing and personal hygiene
* Positioning and wheelchair evaluation
* Splinting
* Adaptive Equipment
Speech Therapy
Our Speech Language Pathologist works with residents to enhance their communication abilities and to assist residents who have difficulty chewing and swallowing food or liquids. Services available to residents in our Speech Therapy Program include:
* Rehabilitative dining
* Cognitive rehabilitation
* Dysphasia therapy
* Aphasia and language impairment
Aquatic Therapy
Our therapy department has been designed with a therapeutic pool to enhance your stay at the Kingston Care Center of Sylvania. Our therapy staff is trained to provide you or your loved one with aquatic therapy designed to increase your strength, range of motion and motor skills, and to aid you in your return to home or to reach your highest level of function. Feel free to talk to our therapy staff to see if aquatic therapy is appropriate for you or your loved one.
